The game itself, working with Natsume, will come with enhanced visuals, two new characters, four-player co-op, additional stages, and several new weapons for you to master. But the game will also be coming back in limited quantities for SNES, which included a classic box and cartridge with instructions and more.
Primarily the company will be selling the game as a boxed Limited Edition and Collector's Editions for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, each one coming with different additions and options depending on how big of a collector you want to be. As it is, the game has a very steep learning curve that only slightly tapers off once you've got a few hours of experience with it.Strictly Limited Games announced they will be releasing Wild Guns Reloaded in several different forms, including an SNES retro version. Things like not being able to move and shoot at the same time might have made sense on an SNES controller but since the advent of twin stick controls feels clumsy and awkward, and forces everything in the game to slow down in a sense. The combination of one hit kills, waves of bullets, and stiff, awkward controls often makes the game feel more like an exercise in frustration techniques than a fun pastime. The game really could have just used a full rebalancing to make it feel less like a quarter-eating arcade game and more like a fair challenge from start to finish. It feels a bit like a token gesture though.
The base game is hard-even on easy mode you'll likely game over and retry multiple times-so having an even easier mode is a nice starting point. The new levels are spread out across the different difficulty levels so you'll have to replay the game a couple of times just to see everything once, and even though beginner's mode might seem too forgiving with its infinite lives it's a pretty significant boon for Wild Guns Reloaded.
In addition to new characters this remaster also features new levels and two new modes: beginner's mode and a boss rush time attack.
